This product helps prevent discoloration of pool water due to iron, calcium, manganese, copper and other metals and minerals which may be present in the water supply. This product is an excellent general purpose sequestrant which helps protect plumbing and pool walls from rust, stain and scale. It should be used for all pool openings and closings and throughout the season as needed. For initial filling of pool, if iron or other metallic contaminants are suspected, add one quart of Metal Free for each 10,000 gallons of pool water. Add Metal Free while the pool is being filled and before chlorine is added. To correct an existing colored water problem (due to the presence of minerals in the pool water), first close the pool to all swimmers. Leave the filter pump running. Stop chlorinating the pool and allow the chlorine level to drop to zero. Lower the pH of the pool water to 6.8 with pH Lower, lowering the pH will re-dissolve the metallic impurities. Add one quart of Metal Free per 10,000 gallons of water and allow the pool water to circulate overnight, or until the water is clear. Re-adjust the pH of the pool water between 7.2-7.8 with pH Rise. Begin normal chlorination and pool operation. Swimming may resume when chlorine residual is 1.0-3.0 ppm. To make up for loss of Metal Free due to backwashing and/or splash-out, add one quart of Metal Free for each 20,000 gallons of pool water, once each month.

Title: Works like a charm
Review: We have hard water, if we don’t use this before adding chlorine for our first fill of the year our pool is green until drained and refilled.

Title: Saved the day!
Review: We have city water, but itâs still pretty heavy in iron. The first day it rained, my pool turned brown. One of our neighbors suggested we purchase this product, but we couldnât find it anywhere locally. Thank you 2day shipping, we quickly got it back to being crystal clear within a day of putting this in!

Title: Almost worked
Review: I have iron from well water. This product showed improvement but itâs not all gone. (The green is a reflection of trees) One bottle should treat 10,000 gallons. My pool is an above ground 3,400 gallon. I first added the appropriate amount for my size pool but saw no difference after 24 hours with the pump running nonstop. I then added the rest of the bottle, pump running continuously for the next 32 hours. The pic is the result. A definite improvement (wish I had a before pic) but not crystal clear. Iâm at a loss. BTW chlorine was at 0.

Title: Works!
Review: My pool was looking rough after I filled it with the well water. The chlorine reacted with the metals and it looked like a big mess of brown. I put this in and the pool cleared up in under two days! The first photo was when I put this product in the pool. The second photo was day one and third photo was day two and final result.

Title: Cleared up issue in less than 24 hours!
Review: After setting up our pool for the year, we added the appropriate amount of chlorine and shock. Almost instantly, the water turn a muddy brown. After some research, we determined there was metal particles in water. This shipped fast, we added it to our pool, let it circulate overnight. I’m the morning we shut off the pump. The particles settled at the bottom and we were able to vacuum it out in just one treatment!

Title: waste of money
Review: Bought this as it is supposed to get rid of metal stains. I had some rust stains in the pool where the pool maintenance service used the wrong type of screw which rusted and stained the gunite. Used as directed and did nothing to get the stain out. Save your money.
