The highly anticipated sequel to Audible’s Best of 2016 – Science Fiction winner, We Are Legion (We Are Bob); a book listeners are calling “so much fun”, “what science fiction was meant to be”, and what would happen if “Andy Weir and Ernest Cline had a lovechild”.

Bob Johansson didn’t believe in an afterlife, so waking up after being killed in a car accident was a shock. To add to the surprise, he is now a sentient computer and the controlling intelligence for a Von Neumann probe.

Bob and his copies have been spreading out from Earth for 40 years now, looking for habitable planets. But that’s the only part of the plan that’s still in one piece. A system-wide war has killed off 99.9 percent of the human race; nuclear winter is slowly making the Earth uninhabitable; a radical group wants to finish the job on the remnants of humanity; the Brazilian space probes are still out there, still trying to blow up the competition; and the Bobs have discovered a spacefaring species that sees all other life as food.

Bob left Earth anticipating a life of exploration and blissful solitude. Instead he’s become a sky god to a primitive native species, the only hope for getting humanity to a new home, and possibly the only thing that can prevent every living thing in the local sphere from ending up as dinner.

Listener favorite Ray Porter returns to narrate Bob – and his many incarnations – in all of their geeky glory.

For We Are Many is the second installment in the blockbuster Audible Original Bobiverse series – which has sold more than one million copies.

Title: Better than the first one
Review: I have to say that I was surprised by the second book of the series.I enjoyed the first one but wasn’t sure I would read the rest of the series ( I am an avid series reader:)) but decided to go on and get the second one because it was a nice read the first time around. How I’m glad I did.most “second” books or movies are normally more of the same or worse than the first, or even completely different. This was an improvement.I loved it and think it is more fun to read than the first. It starts off fast, with more action and more interesting things going on than the first book.Being that you are already immersed in the story and world, there is no need for long introductions and time wasted getting into things. Its just full on fun from the get go.I would highly recommend this book if you enjoyed the first one and would encourage anyone who isn’t sure if they want to read the second one or not.Read it:)

Title: Not bad. Constantly timejumping chapters really annoying.
Review: The story in the book is interesting, but the author’s habit of jumping forward and backwards 10 to 20 years every chapter is completely annoying. There is no reason it needs to be done. The story could be told chronologically, and all it does is make it confusing to remember who knows what when. Additionally, there is absolutely zero Character development. Interesting story about spread to the stars.

Title: Can’t say enough good things about this series
Review: The story is filled with believable nerdy detail and keeps me listening ( I’m on my fourth listen of the series )

Title: Delightful
Review: Someone recommended this series to me and I decided to try it. So glad I did. It’s sci-fi with an emphasis on sci but not so much that you feel the need for a calculator and a physics class to understand it. The premise is interesting. Cryogenics on steroids basically only the end result, due to politics and technology is like an AI but human-ish.Once Bob gets into space the fun starts. Discovering planets, fending off other nation’s probes, encountering salient life. All the standard sci-fi stuff but from the viewpoint of a once human, now replicant who is dealing with his own issues. I’m reminded of Becky Chambers, Alan Dean Foster, and Nathan Lowell. There’s definitely space fighting action but the emphasis is on systems, philosophies, and evolution. If any of these authors appeal, you’ll like this seties.

Title: Throw as many in the universe as you can; and see which ones ‘bob’ to the top.
Review: The second book outshines and out sciences the first. The initial premise of the book is an intriguing look at something that people are doing today and possible ramifications in our future tomorrow. The whimsical look at a whim to live longer through cryogenic freezing. What happens when the world takes enough left turns that maybe you don’t want to wake up to what’s out there, not to mention that there may now be moral and ethical considerations that will prevent the original plan from being carried out. What if the future deems you to be a non-person and possibly a source of technology–possibly old technology that might be tossed out or upgraded and put to use slaved to whatever task they deem necessary. That’s not even mentioning the on/off switch.Bob wakes up to a world of future advancements in things that could only be imagined and maybe a few that hadn’t quite been imagined, to find that mankind has taken a few steps backward while heading into the future; and though there are interesting and bright horizons out there, he has to escape from humanities clutches to realize that.I’ve purchased and read both books (the paperback editions). Going out on a limb with that purchase based on reading the book-one sample.I was not disappointed.Certainly they are many; however I might argue that they are not Bob.I wasn’t sure about that aspect, but having each Bob become something different and yet having throughout the story referential elements that were similar was quite entertaining and probably difficult to write. However Dennis has great success there because it could have gotten confusing for a number of reason and yet it didn’t and it may be despite of, and possibly because of the multiple number of short chapters and how well they are crafted.I fully expected to get lost at some point and of course I couldn’t read it all in one night. (One night–two books–that’s my better half who might be able to do that.) So the small chapters were great, you could stop anywhere. However they were just short enough and each chapter’s beginning and ending are crafted to make you turn the next page so it becomes–just a moment, next chapter, and I’ll get ready for bed.Yes there were some fantastical elements in both books, but the science and the various issues and what ifs were all pretty well crafted and didn’t ever threaten to overwhelm the story itself which was basically how the character coped and evolved throughout the story. Two thumbs up from all of us; we are many we are reader. For anyone expecting something silly; you won’t be disappointed, but you will get a huge bonus when you get hooked on this one.J.L. Title: The best space opera series since Murderbot
Review: This series is outstanding. I will buy every book immediately. The scope and depth of thought that went into the creation of this universe is breathtaking. It is also realistic to such an extent that it is goosebump-inducing. I will read every subsequent work by this author — one of my new favorites — and right up there with Bester, Zelazny, Asimov. This is a profound contribution to literature.-Ben

Review: Firstly the negative – like all science fiction written by science geeks the writing is a little stodgy to begin but gets better as you go through the books. The real hero here is the subject matter. Reading about Taylor’s van Neumann probes really got me started on galactic colinisation more than anything I’ve ever read, and even had me researching Drake’s equation and Fermi’s paradox. Really immersive stuff!
