JOHNSTONE COUNTRY.
WHERE MEN LIVE BY THEIR WITS—OR DIE BY THEIR IGNORANCE.
The President has come to Deadwood—and his enemies have come out of the woodwork—in an action-packed tale of vengeance and justice from national bestselling authors William W. Johnstone and J.A. Johnstone.
A HAIL OF BULLETS TO THE CHIEF
Deadwood, South Dakota. Miners flock there seeking fortunes, while cardsharps, bandits, and businessmen seek to deprive those who strike gold by means fair and foul. Legendary former lawman Seth Bullock plans to keep the peace by any means necessary—especially when his good friend, President Theodore Roosevelt, is expected in town to celebrate the anniversary of Deadwood’s founding.
Delayed in Washington, the President has sent his wife and children to the boomtown ahead of his arrival. But Ambrose Neill, a former New York City policeman jailed by Roosevelt for corruption, has kidnapped the President’s daughter. Backed by a gang of trigger-happy outlaws and supported by a ruthless senator, Neill plans to politically control the Commander-in-Chief before slaughtering him.
But what Neill and his cohorts don’t realize is that Roosevelt has gathered a deadly posse of rough riders including Bullock—and the legendary father-son gunfighters Frank and Conrad Morgan—who are more likely to bring the gang to justice dead than alive . . .

Title: Great Read
Review: This western has a little extra flavor to it as President Theodore Roosevelt is a central character in the book. He is invited to Deadwood to celebrate the town’s founding and sends his family on ahead under an assumed name so they can enjoy the town with no one but his pal, Seth Bullock, knowing their true identity. Unfortunately a crooked Eastern senator knows about the trip and contacts an outlaw with an axe to grind against the President. They set up a trap to get their revenge by kidnapping two of the Roosevelt children and intend to torture them to death in front of the President before murdering the man. There is a greater evil twist as the children are kidnapped three times, as Roosevelt has many enemies. The book is full of heroes and villains and they make it a great read.

Title: A solid Western tale.
Review: This story is not my favorite read but it was still a fun story! I have enjoyed every book I have read by the Johnstones and look forward to reading many more. The West had its share of good and bad people. It is a great way to remember how it was won!

Title: If you like good historical like westerns, you will love this novel.
Review: As someone who has been a voracious reader for more than 7 decades, my reading interests have always been wide and varied on topics from A to Z. One of my favorite genres is well-written westerns. I have also become a fan of many western novels written by William W. Johnstone and J. A, Johnstone and I recently purchased this action-packed western tale (Black Hills Blood Hunt: A Hunter Buchanon-Frank Morgan western) by those authors on Amazon. This interesting story revolves around President Theodore Roosevelt, who is going to visit Deadwood, South Dakota, but sent his wife and family ahead because of unfinished business. What he does not know is that some old enemies are planning to kidnap his family to murder him and his family. I never give away too much information when reviewing any novel, but if you like action-packed page-turning westerns you should check out this fantastic novel.Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. Title: Suspenseful and Intriguing
Review: The author’s following in the footsteps of their predecessors have delivered a story that captivates the mind and causes the reader to become a part of the written word. And excellent example of stories about “The Old West” begun by those of the genre of Zane Grey and so many others.

Review: I got these for my husband as he loves westerns. And he can’t seem to put them down. He pretty much reads them from cover to cover. Any spare time I can find him reading these books. Just wish I could remember which ones he read so I don’t buy duplicates.
